Allergies & Asthma

We have been successfully treating allergies and asthma in our practice for several years utilizing a combination of CranioBiotic Technique and the Bio-Kinetic Technique.

Allergies

"Allergy" is a term used to describe an altered reaction by an individual on contact with a specific antigen. This is generally a localized process involving any one, or combination of, such symptoms as

Asthma

Asthma in both children and adults is a serious ongoing disease that affects the airways. It is a chronic disease in which the immune system is impaired. There is no apparent cure. Asthma symptoms include

Impact and Incidence

Because of their potentially debilitating nature, asthma and allergies may have a negative effect on lifestyle (finance, recreation, dietary choices); productivity on the job; athletic performance; and the quality and quantity of sleep. Neither asthma or allergies have limitations as to who may be afflicted, and sufferers may be impacted twenty-four hours a day, seven days a week. People of all ages, all races, and all social classes may suffer from either or both conditions.

In the United States, asthma affects some 22 million people, six million of whom are children. Allergies are also becoming more of a health concern with current estimates suggesting as many as one in three people have one or more sensitivities.

Causes

The medical profession says that allergies and asthma are of an "unknown etiology," which means they don't really know the root cause of either condition. We do know, however, that there is an endocrine/autonomic nervous system dysfunction involved.

Our Approach

Our approach to treating allergies and asthma, which has proved to be quite effective, is to identify the contributing factors. This can be a cranial fault (pressure on the brain stem or cranial nerve) which leads to a breakdown between the control center and body; vertebral subluxation/spinal lesion (pressure on spinal nerves) which leads to a breakdown in systems; an infestation of candida, primarily in the intestine (a condition called "leaky gut"); parasites; or adrenal exhaustion. By eliminating contributing factors and perhaps changing an individual's diet, our protocol in treating asthma and allergies is quite successful.

We must remember that every medical intervention costs the body something. To treat the symptom is to progress the illness. Finding and correcting the cause is the only true and safe answer in health care, and perhaps the moral and ethical obligation of every physician.
